One More Try

Ancient people gather near the fire
Crawl in from the darkness and the dirt
Crying to the gods in desperation
Praying that the power lift the curse
Eerie nighttime noises all around them
Suspicious eyes are shifting left and right
Verge of pandemonium gets nearer
And the enemy is on them for the fight
You should have listened to your father
Telling you the secret to survive
Words he spoke are burning so much clearer
Branded like an image in your mind
Can we give it one more try?
Can we give it one more try?
Pain and hunger force them to migration
Searching for a home on hallowed ground
But petty wars and natural selection
Filter out the weaker from the strong
Fifty thousand years of evolution
Twisted wrong fanaticals arrive
Bearing still , their methods of destruction
And pointing guilty fingers at the sky
